Attorneys

The Alpharetta law firm of Meriwether & Tharp LLP is conveniently located for clients in the metropolitan Atlanta area. We have a young, aggressive staff of attorneys who grew up in the digital age and use technology to give our practice an edge and to benefit our clients. We have been known to delight both judges and jurors with our PowerPoint presentations. Our work and our firm’s efficiency in managing our time and digitally mapping cases are based on the use of advanced litigation software and technology.

While our attorneys are very capable of taking an aggressive approach to a client’s case, we will never act as blind advocates. Blind advocacy often leads to a large bill, and is not guaranteed to lead to a successful result. Advice given at Meriwether & Tharp LLP is not only limited to what is needed to win the case. Instead, our attorneys advise clients when a more tempered approach can effectively achieve the client’s ultimate goals. In those situations, our attorneys actively negotiate our client’s case to hopefully reach an amicable settlement. Sometimes the best form of advice is helping you, the client, weigh cost benefits, determining when to settle a case and when to pursue litigation. While our firm focuses on two broad areas of practice, Family Law and Business Law, we have experience in handling a number of matters that fall under these broad headings. In particular, our firm handles all aspects of family law including both uncontested and contested divorces, chil d custody, child support, visitation, spousal support, domestic violence, and adoptions. And in the area of business law, we represent and advise clients on business transactions ranging from contract drafting and review, corporate startups, sale of businesses, strategic alliances, franchises, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, business torts and commercial litigation.
